Got an alarm this am laying in a hotel room that there was a structural break in BTC (this is leading into the possible ETF hype.)
I checked my phone for an account to trade it with right away, ready to enter. But my FTMO account was flipped off, and I didn’t have bingx setup on my phone, didn’t break a laptop, and ThinkMarkets wasn’t running BTC. Landed home and saw it indeed formed up, went through the whole process a second time trying to find accounts to use to catch it with.
I was super late catching it – entry is much higher than shown, but the setup is in my playbook and the level is busted. Buyers are picking the dips up. I put half the bingx account in, isolated margin 50x which leaves my limit as shown at 42840. I’ll have to post margin on a retest, so it’s a bit of a gamble but the trade is straight into green. It drew back a bit on my entry, I was scrabling to get in so didn’t enter in phases like I usually would. The L2 showed the buyers snapping up any fade.
Lookin’ easy. Can 0 risk it soon, or pop off the profit at 100% gain and keep the rest open if it keeps it up. I made sure to watch for this move!! Trading such a small account is heinous, and I’m likely to blow it up but if I can make really selective swing trades with really high margin, we can do it.
Beauty setup. Just caught it so late!! It would already be +50% on account if I entered when I got the alert. Ah well 😉 That’s the exciting part! You have to make decisions live, no second guessing, be confident, measure fast, have a plan.
On the education side, I started a specialization/certificate from Google on Machine Learning for Trading and it’s filling in a lot of blanks in my knowledge. I’ve absorbed a lot but my knowledge isn’t very granular, I just understand the general qualities and problems from experience. Hoping to crush the first course today but that’s a little over-zealous.
Update: End of day, cashed out. +90% day. 75% winrate (one bad small discretionary trade -$17.)
Don’t try this at home!!! This is very high-risk trading. There is a reason these exchanges are banned in Canada! I would struggle to trade a 50k account with these levels of risk.
