Self Review: Work and Play – Trading Before Work

One of the best attributes of west coast life for traders is that you can get a day in the markets before work. Couple hours in the AM is all you need and is the best time of day to trade.

After a break and disastrous experience running a TFT coupon they handed me as collateral to make up for their collapse, I decided to just cut the loss and consider them a scam. I had some Tether stuck on Kraken and decided to load up a “TradeThePool” 160k account challenge. They’re from the 5%ers team and look very good – 12k tickers most everything you can imagine. Spreads are lean, slippage is non-existent. Looks great. It’s not made for beginners tho, the rules are pretty intense and they don’t give you room to draw down so you better be skilled and go right into green.

Today was day 1 trying a routine of trading before the “work day” which is what I’ve been doing for the last year or so anyway. Wake up, trade 6:30, stop 8:30. Results are good on my first day with small sizing.

1 b/e, 3 wins. Enviable stats 1:21 RRR. My decision making is very good at this point, having logged 15 or 20k hours of screen time. I’ll step on the gas a bit and size things now that i’ve got some buffer. 7600 target for 160k (4.75%) with 45 day time limit – should be feasible if I’m patient. I traded small today to ensure I understood the platform.

The platform is good. Not recommended if you’re not top percentile skills, which means most everyone. Use something cheap until you can pass.

Had some really lovely trades despite what looks like an un-tradable mess. Ran a bit over 8:30 PT tho. Someone on trading view asked me if these were actually trades I took or just wishful 😛 Ill skills.

This one is from the opening bell. I took a little one before just to test the platform, and then added a little after open. You’re supposed to wait for 200k shares to be traded – hard to calculate but this is a liquid market and the trade was clear.

Feels great. Now I have to sleep in tomorrow, I’m really only good for one early morning so probably monday and wednesday or thursday I’ll dedicate to trading open. I can feel it already, my decision making will erode if I don’t sleep after an early morning.
