Apparently I got covid on work travel.
General plot re-wind: I got over-confident after some really big plays in the last couple weeks and needed to get humbled by BTC over the weekend. Being sick and run down, getting censored and moderated, and getting schooled by the markets is a great way to find your humility. I’ve been writing about my focus turning to work more, and I’ve been living it this week. I’m basically limiting myself to a position a day. One pristine entry a day tops.
Back to basics, I’m just playing the atomic VOLD scalps and trying to avoid trading otherwise. I can find maybe three clear setups a week for a trade that will live minutes to hours, and that’s all I need. So I’m just parking everything that’s not primary life focus right now (only work, health, and monitoring), taking a few swings a week tops, and trying to limit trading activity otherwise.
Today I saw a very clean “Atomic VOLD Scalp” short, I took it pretty heavy 20 contracts US500 short. The trade was reduced in profit to cover risk, and I let the rest run until I saw clear consolidation at which point I took full profit.
You can see on the left the vold structural break early in the day that signalled a down trend day was likely to me, I saw a safe entry and entered in two lots.
Once I saw the price stall, I took 10 contracts off to ensure the trade was paid for. When I saw consolidation I decided to close the position fully. I was feeling sick so decided not to put more risk on, but this was under-weight. I could have sized this at least 3x larger, shooting towards 1000% account size or even more would have been fine. These plays have virtually no drawdown so they can be sized into rapidly with barely any risk to account.

Can see the close there logged. Pretty much picture perfect scalp. Only thing wrong about this was not sizing it more aggressively, but I was sick. That’s all it takes tho, just a few minutes.
